Hopscotch, a 2020 eLab alumni startup, was recently named one of the “most disruptive MBA startups” by Poets & Quants. The integrated HIPPA compliant digital health platform is on a mission to change the future of pediatric healthcare. The company developed a platform that allows patients and behavioral health providers the opportunity to meet virtually, while also providing exercises and resources that can help children improve engagement between each meeting.
Since completing eLab, Hopscotch has been accepted into both Harvard Innovation Labs and LaunchNY. “The mentorship and networks that we’ve been able to tap into, and learn from, through these programs have been crucial in helping us progress,” reported the founders, Marla Beyer, Nicole Beck and Kelcie Lee to Poets & Quants. The company also credits its time at Cornell for the current success and business growth.
“Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management provided me with the flexibility to tailor my experience so that I was able to focus my efforts on taking coursework, partaking in experiences and meeting individuals vital to helping the venture progress. Beyond that, the student body and administration were extremely supportive and encouraging about our project. Our team was also able to participate in eLab, Cornell’s yearlong student accelerator program, which provided a wealth of knowledge, through mentorship, boot camps and opportunities to present to investors.”
In a time when meeting virtually is absolutely essential, the startup has found itself in a unique situation where the opportunity for growth is heightened and the market potential is expanded. The company is working to offer support to its users, and to shape the future of virtual health consulting.
